Lost and found
"Oh no, I've accidentally deleted my photos off my memory (SD) card in my phone/camera/other hardware device, what am I going to to do?" Worry not, there are programs out there - such as Card Recovery Pro - that can ease the pain.
Pay to recover
One of the most important things to note about Card Recovery Pro is that with the free version you can gain an overview of the files that are recoverable, but the program won't let you recover them unless you pay for the full version. Instead, it will dangle your "lost forever" files in front of your nose, but they will remain just out of reach. It's also worth mentioning that the program supports photos, audio, and video but not any other type of file, such as Microsoft Word or Excel docs.
If you're willing to pay the full whack, all you need to do is connect your digital media device with the SD card in it to your computer, open the program, choose your destination folder and applicable drive (in case you have more than one digital media device connected), and click "Start Scan". Then once the results are in you click again to recover the files.
The process is fairly quick and, once it has finished, Card Recovery Pro presents you with a list of deleted files available for recovery sorted into file types (JPEG, WAV, etc).
The alternate option this program offers is to "Resume Recovery", which is useful because it saves your place if you didn't get the whole way through the recovery process the first time. And Card Recovery Pro won't make any changes to your SD card, as it saves all the recovered folders into the destination of your choosing on your hard drive.
Ugly but easy
Card Recovery Pro sports a really unattractive user interface, but as the two main options it performs ("Start Scan" and "Resume Recovery") are very clearly marked in large brightly-colored buttons, this isn't much of a problem.
Solid but not spectacular
If you're looking to recover multimedia files from your digital media device, Card Recovery Pro is a solid option for novices. However, if you're more tech-savvy, there are free programs out there that can do the same but require more legwork on your part.

Scam.
They are scamming me and stealing my money.
The program didn't recover a single file from my sd cards. I lost very valuable footage. I followed instructions and tried multiple times.
I have contacted the company and requested my money back in 4 separate emails. They keep ignoring my request and saying things like "I hope you can keep our program" and "we want to offer you another free program of ours." I have requested a phone number to call a supervisor or manager. Still nothing. I wasted my money.
Pros:
nothing
Cons:
Scam
